Now he writes and writes (though he's not so happy about writing formal papers, as he would much rather tell a story ;). Thank you for sharing your hard won wisdom.<br />-SusanSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06710205217819146347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7546783121640385268.post-33578894728704279032014-04-27T14:30:43.027+10:002014-04-27T14:30:43.027+10:00Thanks, Meredith. Thanks, Meredith.Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06820925595506920754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7546783121640385268.post-89360899256906219292014-04-27T14:01:09.630+10:002014-04-27T14:01:09.630+10:00Thanks for your encouraging comments, Christy. I added a link to a website which might have made life easier for the situation my son was in if it had been available 10 years ago. It's probably not relevant to your daughter but it's interesting.Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06820925595506920754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7546783121640385268.post-16518213074126498802014-04-25T09:23:13.928+10:002014-04-25T09:23:13.928+10:00So many great thoughts here! I did AO years ago but stopped for about 5 years because I didn't trust it and thought my kids weren't getting anything out of it. Of course my oldest daughter has been such a guinea pig for our schooling that it hasn't helped her at all. We are now returning or have been back for 6 months and I can see improvements with my boys but my daughter not so much. Curriculum hopping sure didn't help. Her writing is her weakest point but her ideas and discussion of books with me has increased her thinking dramatically. (Just so you don't thinking I am bashing my daughter, her sunny disposition and strong moral character are some of the best things about her. Just not her academics.) Reading posts like this really encourage me with our schooling and using CM's methods.ChristyHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18314469368709173839noreply@blogger.com
